2021 has barely started and, thankfully, that means we all can at least *think about* getting dressed and go out a bit more – after the current lockdown of course. So, with this in mind, I thought I’d do a post on 5 need to know fashion trends for Spring. Say goodbye to constant pyjamas and binge watching Netflix all the time, and say hello to the hottest fashion trends.
The brighter and bolder the better! This season florals ARE ground-breaking (hope you all enjoyed ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ reference there!) as they’re in neon making them super impactful. Team with also on trend Khaki for a really modern take on a seasonal classic.
Seen at: Tom Ford, Valentino, Marni, Carolina Herrera
So belts aren’t a new thing, but this season they are far from low slung. This season it’s all about getting waisted! (With waist belts, I mean.) Think very ‘Sex & The City 2’, where Patricia Field also went crazy for waist belts.
Seen at: Chanel, Prada, JW Anderson, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Chloe
Catch a load of this – nets are back IN. No, not fishnets. Net details. It’s classy not trashy this season, with details purely for eye candy purposes and somehow feels like the *right* design detail for now.
Seen at: Dries van Noten, Burberry, Hermes, Fendi, Jil Sander, Balenciaga, Lanvin, Rick Owens
Trend: Oversized Denim
It’s a love affair we can all appreciate – forget ‘When Harry Met Sally’ – it’s all about when denim met sweatpants. Together, they created a garment we can all appreciate that’s louche, cool and comfortable.
Seen at: Balenciaga, Victoria Beckham, Chloe, Etro, Celine, Christian Dior, Valentino, Paco Rabbane
This season it’s all about pastel floral tones. Think hues of roses, lovely lilac, peony pinks, beautiful bluebells and buttercup yellows. Nothing quite says spring like a pretty pastel.
Seen at: Tod’s, Chloe, Rick Owens, Max Mara, Giorgio Armani, Versace, Raf Simons, Chanel
