I’ve finally made the time to watch ‘Gossip Girl’ – it’s been on my watch list *forever*. I’m so into it, I thought I’d do a blog on all the celebrity cameos I spotted! So here goes (You know you love it! xoxo, Gossip Girl):
Cyndi Lauper
Season 2 – Episode 10 – ‘Bonfire of the Vanity’
Her role: she plays herself at Blair Waldorf’s 18th birthday party
Known for: being an American singer, songwriter, and actress whose OTT outfits and catchy songs, most famously ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ (1983), helped her reach pop icon status.

Krysten Ritter
Season 2 – Episode 24 – ‘Valley Girls’
Her role: cast as a young Carol Rhodes, the black sheep of the Van Der Woodsen family.
Known for: American actress, musician, author, and model. She is best known for starring as the title character in the Netflix series ‘Jessica Jones’ (2015–2019) and Jesse’s girlfriend in the TV series ‘Breaking Bad’ (2008-2013).
Brittany Snow
Season 2 – Episode 24 – ‘Valley Girls’
Her role: a young Lily van der Woodsen in a series of flashbacks of her life as a teenager in the 1980s. In the past, Lily runs away from her wealthy parents to live in the San Fernando Valley with her sister Carol Rhodes.
Known for: being an American actress, producer, director and singer, best known for her roles in films like ‘John Tucker Must Die’ (2006), ‘Hairspray’ (2007), and ‘Pitch Perfect’ (2012).

No Doubt
Season 2 – Episode 24 – ‘Valley Girls’
Their role: have an uncredited guest appearance during the episode as a fictional band called ‘Snowed Out’, a play on words of ‘No Doubt’
Known for: band featuring the well known singer, Gwen Stefani

Hilary Duff
Season 3 – Episode 4 – ‘Dan de Fleurette’
Her role: played Olivia Burke, a movie star who had a brief fling with Dan Humphrey
Known for: being an American actress and singer-songwriter. You’ve probably seen her in films such as ‘A Cinderella Story’ (2004) and the TV series ‘Lizzie McGuire’ (2001-2004).

Tory Burch
Season 3 – Episode 4 – ‘Dan de Fleurette’
Her role: she plays herself and interviews Serena Van Der Woodsen for a job
Known for: an American fashion designer. She is the Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of her own brand, Tory Burch LLC. I love her bags and ballet pumps.

Lady GaGa
Season 3 – Episode 10 – ‘The Last Days of Disco Stick’
Her role: preforms at an NYU event but Dan, Olivia and Vanessa are too busy discussing their love triangle to watch Gaga perform
Known for: being a singer songwriter who makes outrageous fashion statements, such as the meat dress.

Season 3 – Episode 16 – ‘The Empire Strikes Back’
Their role: is the DJ at Eleanor Waldorf’s fashion show
Known for: a Canadian electronic music producer, DJ, and musician – I’m a big fan

Karlie Kloss
Season 4 – Episode 1 – ‘Belles de Jour’
Her role: plays herself attending a fashion party – she is seen looking for Eleanor Waldorf
Known for: being a fashion model and friend of singer Taylor Swift

Tyra Banks
Season 4 – Episode 3 – ‘The Undergraduates’
Her role: plays Ursula, who becomes friends with Serena after she is hired as her assistant
Known for: being the host of the TV show ‘America’s Next Top Model’ (2003-2018) and an actress and model in her own right

Michelle Trachtenberg
Season 4 – Episode 3 – ‘The Undergraduates’
Her role: Blair Waldorf successfully orchestrates a plot with the help of Chuck Bass and Dan Humphrey to temporarily get rid of evil genius Georgina Sparks, played by Michelle Trachtenberg
Known for: being an actress – she played Jenny in ‘Euro Trip’ (2004) and Dawn Summers in ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ (2000–2003)

Ivanka Trump
Season 4 – Episode 6 – ‘Easy J’
Her role: she shows up at a New York Observer party
Known for: her father is the President of the United States, Donald Trump

Tim Gunn
Season 4 – Episode 6 – ‘Easy J’
His role: he plays himself, and interviews Jenny Humphrey for a job, however, the interview is sabotaged
Known for: being the mentor of the TV show ‘Project Runway’ (2004-)

Rachel Zoe
Season 4 – Episode 7 – ‘War At The Roses’
Her role: attends Blair Waldorf’s 20th birthday party
Known for: being a talented celebrity stylist

Florence Welch
Season 4 – Episode 14 – ‘Panic Roommate’
Her role: she’s playing in the background with her band Florence + The Machine when Dan and Serena get married
Known for: lead singer of the band, Florence + The Machine

Liz Hurley
Season 5 – Episode 1 – ‘Yes, Then Zero’
Her role: plays sexy cougar, Diana, who has a fling with Nate
Known for: She’s a model and actress and in the 1990s, she also became known as the girlfriend of fellow actor Hugh Grant.

Vera Wang
Season 5 – Episode 11 – ‘The End Of The Affair?’
Her role: Blair and Dan were visiting Vera Wang’s boutique on Madison Avenue for the wedding dress fitting and the designer herself came to assist them
Known for: being a fashion designer – her dresses are jaw-droppingly beautiful

Alexa Chung
Season 6 – Episode 3 – ‘Dirty Rotten Scandals’
Her role: Alexa appears as herself and takes part in a fashion show organised by Leighton Meester’s Blair Waldorf. Because it’s Gossip Girl, things don’t run smoothly and a stressed Alexa says: “There’s no way in hell I’m going out there,” before making a swift exit
Known for: is a British writer, television presenter, model, and fashion designer

Rachel Bilson
Season 6 – Episode 10 – ‘New York, I Love You XOXO’
Her role: she auditions for Blair Waldorf in a movie based off “Gossip Girl” within the show
Known for: being the actress that played Summer on ‘The O.C.’ (2003-2007).
Kristen Bell
Season 6 – Episode 10 – ‘New York, I Love You XOXO’
Her role: *spoiler alert* Kristen Bell voiced the character of “Gossip Girl” throughout the show’s entire run
Known for: being an actress who is the voice of Anna in ‘Frozen’ (2013) and (my personal favourite) as KiKi on ‘Bad Moms’ (2016).

Michael Bloomberg
Season 6 – Episode 10 – ‘New York, I Love You XOXO’
His role: when the real Gossip Girl was finally revealed. (In 2012, this New York City mayor declared 26 January as ‘Gossip Girl Day’ too!)
Known for: the being the mayor of New York City from 2002-2013
