What would Disney princesses look like in 2020?

In my opinion, you are never too old for Disney – and all girls have a favourite princess. (We do. It’s true.) With this in mind, I’ve chosen my top 3 Disney princesses to give you my thoughts on what they would look like in 2020:

Belle (from ‘Beauty and the Beast’) – age 17

Belle is my favourite Disney princess. I love that she’s got the beauty and the brains (ok, book smarts) to save the prince, instead of being the typical Disney damsel in distress.

I read online somewhere that Belle is 17 – so I’ve taken that into consideraiton when putting this together. I believe she’s a country girl, living out in a cute cottage with her family and a stable for her horse. She likes music with meaningful lyrics and is a big fan of Taylor Swift for her strength. She reads books featuring strong women, and takes to Twitter to voice her opinions, share petitions for causes she believes in.

Ariel (from ‘The Little Mermaid’) – Age 16

My second favourite Disney princess is Ariel from ‘The Little Mermaid’. Apparently, she’s only 16 years old. I had some serious hair envy here – I’d love hair that colour, that thick, and that long!

Anyway… I see Ariel as a make-up vlogger on YouTube and Instagram influencer, specialising in mermaid make-up, with a love of all things aquatic and holographic. She has a vast make up collection, which, you know, helps with the vlogging and tutorials. She lives by water, loves holidaying by a beach, or sunbathing by a pool, obviously with her favourite mermaid tail pool float. She lives a relaxed easy going life.

Jasmine (from ‘Aladdin’) – age 15

Jasmine is one princess I’ve always been a little envious of. I mean, who wouldn’t want a gorgeous friendly pet tiger and to live in a gorgeous palace? It’s the stuff of dreams!

In 2020, I see a 15 year old Jasmine as a girl with her fur baby cat, who makes tiktoks like #richkidcheck and lives in a major city in a penthouse apartment wih floor to ceiling glass windows. She loves designer labels and shopping in her free time. Her favourite animals are tigers, and she sponsors one. She wants to be a fashion designer when she grows up.
